We will embark on an amazing desert adventure after breakfast at your riad in Fes. We're going to be traveling south toward Merzouga, which is where the desert is. We'll stop briefly along the route in the quaint city of Ifrane so you can take a break and enjoy the stunning scenery.
We're going to travel on and halt at a cedar grove after we reach the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will be able to see Barbary apes in their native environment here. We will then stop for a filling lunch at a restaurant along the way to make sure you have the energy to continue.
We will soon arrive in the picturesque Ziz Valley, which is well-known for its profusion of palm tree oases. Before we head into the desert, you can take in the splendor of this verdant scenery.
When we get to the desert in the afternoon, your real camel caravan experience will begin. Riding your faithful camel, traverse the fascinating sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will stop along the way to take in a magnificent sunset from atop a tall dune, which will make for an incredibly memorable experience.
As we continue our camel trip, we will arrive at an opulent camp. You will be brought to your own private tent upon arrival, where you can unwind and change. A delectable dinner with a taste of regional cuisine will be served after dusk descends. It's highly recommended to get up early today to see the stunning sunrise over Erg Chebbi's dunes. Following a delectable breakfast, you have the option of traveling to Merzouga by 4x4 car or by camel ride. When it's time to continue your journey to Dades Gorge, your driver/guide will be prepared to take you there.
You will have the opportunity to visit interesting locations during the journey, like the historic market in Rissani (assuming you happen to go on a market day, which is on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). Additionally, you will enjoy a leisurely stroll along the magnificent Todra Gorge, where you can take in the gorgeous views of the Todra River.
Astonishment awaits you as we proceed towards Dades Gorge with the amazing rock formations that resemble monkey fingers.
