4 DAYS DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH ITINERARY

Day 1: MARRAKECH \ HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS \ SKOURA \ DADES GORGES

A simple pick-up from your lodging kicks off your 4-day desert tour from Marrakech. We will travel across the magnificent High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass as we depart from Marrakech. You can request stops at any time during the journey, and your knowledgeable guide and driver will make stops at the most picturesque locations.

After enjoying a delicious lunch in Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate, we travel through the picturesque Rose Valley and Skoura on our way to Dades Gorges. You might choose to see the amazing Amridil Kasbah, one of Morocco's most striking fortified settlements, located in the verdant oasis of Skoura. If you happen to be traveling in the spring, we can also arrange a special visit to see the valley in full bloom, when it's decorated with an amazing display of roses.

As we arrive at Dades Gorges, get ready to be amazed by the impressive rock formations often referred to as “monkey fingers”, while also relishing a panoramic view of the stunning Gorge. Finally, we will head to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and a well-deserved overnight stay.

Day 2: FES \ IFRAN \ MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS \ ZIZ VALLEY \ MERZOUGA DESERT

After a filling breakfast, begin your day with a beautiful drive along the Dades and Todra Rivers, which are flanked by Berber towns and palm trees. One of the most breathtaking valleys in the world, the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, is your destination! Proceed to the Merzouga desert after that.

Our driver/guide will recommend stopping at a traditional Berber shop before heading to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. You can snap free photos there while dressed in Berber attire! You can purchase items like souvenirs or scarves that are perfect for the desert if you so choose. Recall that sharing the Berber culture is the shop's primary goal; purchasing anything is not required. If you are not interested, simply inform your driver or guide so you can bypass the business.

Prepare for a camel journey into the desert once you reach to Merzouga so you can try sandboarding and watch the sunset over the dunes. After that, spend the night in an opulent desert tent where you'll have a delectable dinner and take in the nighttime splendor of the Sahara.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA \ RISSANI \ AGDEZ \ OUARZAZATE

If you get up early today, you'll be rewarded with an amazing sunrise. The closest dune to your site is where you can see the amazing color display. After a delicious breakfast at the camp, you may choose between two enjoyable ways to return to Merzouga town: a four-by-four trip in a comfortable vehicle or an exciting camel trekking experience.

Khamliya village, famous for its captivating Gnawa music, is located not far from the town. Here, we'll pause to let the alluring melodies of this Moroccan musical genre engulf us. Our next visit is Rissani, an ancient city that was a major stop on ancient caravan routes and is historically significant as the cradle of Morocco's present ruling family. Should Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday fall on that day, we will have the chance to explore the city's authentic Moroccan souk.

We travel on from Rissani through Agdez's scenic Draa Valley, which is a very lovely sight. We will go to Ouarzazate and arrive in the afternoon to check into our accommodations.

Day 4: OUARZAZATE \ AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH \ TELOUET KASBAH \ MARRAKECH

Our journey starts today with a delicious breakfast, after which we explore Ouarzazate, which is sometimes called the Hollywood of Africa and serves as a major entry point to the Sahara desert. Notably, this city is home to the historic Taourirt Kasbah and the largest studio in all of Africa, the famed Atlas Studios.

After we have fully experienced Ouarzazate's charms, we travel on to the enthralling Ait Ben Haddou. This is where we will get to see the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which has been protected by UNESCO since 1987. Its attractiveness has been enhanced by the fact that this amazing stronghold has provided a stunning background for a number of renowned movies and television shows, such as Gladiator, the Mummy, and Game of Thrones.

After exploring the fascinating Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, we continue our journey over the breathtaking Atlas Mountains to the bustling city of Marrakech. The drive offers us a mosaic of spectacular views that highlight the charm and attraction of the small Berber communities scattered around the mountainside. We will enjoy stopping along the route to take in the stunning Telouet Kasbah.
